This week’s featured company is Farley Prop Hire. Farley house over 50,000 unique pieces of original antique furniture, props and accessories that are all available to hire to the film and television industry, weddings and events and visual merchandisers, amongst others. A visit to their showrooms is an experience in itself. On arrival you’ll be greeted by the team and offered a seat and a pot of tea in the reception area where you can discuss your requirements before being taken on a guided tour. If you’re pushed for time, their experienced and knowledgeable sales team can show you to the exact piece you’re after saving you the leg work of finding your way through their extensive collection.

The company is separated in to four departments each with their own specialism. Farley is the parent company, and is also the largest division of the company, and is made up of furniture, lighting and objet d’art collected since 1962. Their other departments, Spiller, Lewis and Kaye and Props Galore, have their own dedicated sales teams who know the stock inside out making the selection process as easy as possible.

As well as Farley’s unrivalled customer service, their extensive collection is what sets them apart from competitors. Over 80% of the pieces in their collection are original antiques from Neolithic to Art Deco periods, but they also have some reproduction pieces and some custom made designs to fill the gaps. The depth of their collection means there are always items in stock for every budget, even at the busiest times of year. We have in house workshops who work tirelessly to maintain the quality of the collection meaning pieces can be used in detail shots or as hero props.

Farley’s pieces have featured in countless films and television shows over the years, from Hollywood blockbusters to cult classics but they also supply many other areas of the media industry as well as private individuals. You can see many of Farley’s pieces in films and television shows such as Gladiator, Anna Karenina, every James Bond film, Game of Thrones and Downton Abbey amongst others. Happy Prop Spotting!
